Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 17, 2026
AbsoluteTrends is a browser extension that adds a Google Trends comparison card to Google Search result pages. This privacy policy explains what information the extension accesses, how that information is used, and what is not collected or transferred.
What the extension accesses
The extension accesses the following information only as needed to provide its single purpose:
- The current Google Search query on supported Google Search result pages
- User settings saved in the extension, including comparison terms, selected region, and selected time range
How the information is used
The extension uses this information only to:
- Render the AbsoluteTrends card on Google Search result pages
- Build the matching Google Trends comparison view for the current query
- Remember user preferences across searches
What the extension does not do
- It does not collect personally identifiable information such as name, email address, phone number, or government ID
- It does not collect passwords, payment data, health data, private communications, or precise location data
- It does not sell user data
- It does not transfer user data to third parties for advertising, profiling, or unrelated analytics
- It does not use user data for creditworthiness, lending, or eligibility decisions
Storage and retention
User settings are stored locally through Chrome extension storage so the selected comparison terms, region, and time range can persist between sessions. The extension does not operate its own backend server for storing user data.
Third-party content
The extension embeds Google Trends content from trends.google.com in order to display the comparison chart. That content is provided directly by Google.
